"WhatsApp" is suing the Indian government

The popular instant communication application "WhatsApp" has begun to sue the Indian government, for what it said are the new restrictions imposed by the latter, undermining the principle of privacy that characterizes the application.

Reuters reported that representatives of the famous application filed a lawsuit against the Indian government in a trial in the capital, New Delhi.

And allow the new restrictions that were approved in India, and entered into force on Wednesday, to track the messages of users of "WhatsApp" encrypted, which contradicts the right to privacy. "

The lawsuit wants the Indian judiciary to declare that the new technical restrictions constitute a violation of the privacy of the individual stipulated in the Indian constitution.

The application added, according to what technical sites reported, that the Indian procedure will break the encryption principle that characterizes "WhatsApp", which guarantees complete confidentiality for its users.

"WhatsApp" adopts the encryption principle that prohibits sharing the content of messages in it except with the person sending it only, so that the application itself cannot view these messages.

India seeks from behind the tracking feature to do the opposite, that is, to request the content of messages exchanged between people, and this breaks the encryption principle that provides a guarantee of privacy for users.
