The third wave of coronavirus is receding.

The weekly report, communicated Tuesday by the civil hospices of Lyon, attests to a significant drop in hospitalizations even if the activity in intensive care decreases less sharply.

As of May 24, 241 patients were still being treated at the hospital (all services combined), against 297 the previous week and 379 on May 11.

79 people are currently treated in intensive care, of which less than half (45% precisely) are Covid +.

An encouraging sign.

As a reminder, during the peak of the third wave, 152 patients affected by the coronavirus were taken care of in intensive care.

The incidence rate decreases slightly

By way of comparison, the current situation is now almost similar to that observed on May 11, 2020, when the first confinement was released.

Finally, the disease incidence rate, which reflects the level of circulation within the population, continues to decline slightly.

In the Rhône, it stood at 154 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, against 161 the previous week.
