With the shortage of classrooms, some schools divide one classroom into two or divert the library to give lessons, so the National Council of Experts called for an improvement in the educational environment.
For this reason, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has decided for the first time to set "establishment standards" that indicate the minimum necessary standards for elementary and junior high schools, and has put together a draft.
In the draft, the number of students in one class is 6 or less for elementary and junior high schools, 8 or less for high schools, etc., but the area of the school building that should be secured according to the classification of disabilities and the number of enrolled students is concrete. In addition to being shown, the necessary equipment such as a library is included.
The installation standards themselves will be enforced from April next year, and the area and equipment will be enforced from April next year.
