[Explanation] Total lunar eclipse "encounters" annual "biggest and fullest moon", what kind of romantic spark will it spark?

Astronomical science experts introduced that as one of the most important astronomical phenomena of the year, the astronomical spectacle of "total lunar eclipse + super moon" will appear in the sky on May 26. If the weather is fine by then, the Chinese public will have the honor to enjoy a round of "super Red Moon".

[Explanation] Wang Kechao, head of science popularization at the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced that lunar eclipses are divided into penumbra lunar eclipses, partial lunar eclipses and total lunar eclipses. Among them, the total lunar eclipse is the most ornamental.

On May 26, the "Super Total Lunar Eclipse" will shine in the sky.

The total lunar eclipse began at 16:46 on May 26, Beijing time, and lasted 5 hours and 5 minutes.

In the process of a total lunar eclipse, from "eclipse" to "birth", the moon will not disappear from people's sight, but will present a mysterious and elegant bronze color, which is the "red moon" in people's eyes.

[Explanation] Wang Kechao told reporters that this total lunar eclipse is also the largest moon in this year's "full moon", which is also known as the "super moon" by the public.

Based on accurate astronomical calculations, at 9:51 on May 26, when the moon reached the perigee, the distance between the earth and the moon at this time was only 357,000 kilometers, which is 27,000 kilometers closer than the average earth-moon distance of 384,000 kilometers. The full moon is the closest to the earth in the whole year. At this time, the apparent diameter of the moon is also the largest, about 33.46 arc minutes; at 19:14 on May 26, the moon reaches its fullest state, which is the "full moon."

"Super Moon" and total lunar eclipse are not rare celestial phenomena, but the "combination" of the two is relatively rare, so it is very worth looking forward to.

[Explanation] The reporter learned that if you miss this total lunar eclipse, the next total lunar eclipse visible in China will have to wait until November 8, 2022, and the next one will have to wait until September 8, 2025.
