In order to support people who are in need of living due to the influence of the new coronavirus, an initiative called "Food Drive" has begun in Honjo City, Saitama Prefecture, to collect food from citizens and businesses.

This initiative was started by the Honjo City Council of Social Welfare in response to an increasing number of consultations saying that it is economically difficult due to the effects of the new coronavirus.

Foods that accept donations, such as rice, canned foods, and retort-packed foods, that can be stored at room temperature and have a best-by date of 2 months or more, have been accepted at the office in the city from the 24th.

The deadline for acceptance is 28th of this month, and the collected food will be distributed to those who applied in advance at the Kodama Cultural Center on the 13th of next month and at the Honjo City Hall on the 20th of next month. ..

Yuka Fukai of the Honjo City Council of Social Welfare said, "Since last year, the number of consultations from people who have long-term problems has increased, so I hope we can create an environment where local people can support us as much as possible." I was talking.
