Late Saturday night, it was clear that the rock band Måneskin will win the Eurovision Song Contest final for Italy, with the song Zitti e Buoni.

This is the country's first victory since 1990 and the win was, according to Jennifer Wegerup, at least welcome.

- There was a great belief that Måneskin would win.

As the voting became more and more exciting, it became almost hysterical in the TV studio and total euphoria once they had won.

Tired of calm ballads

Something that is also appreciated in Italy is that the winning song is performed entirely in Italian.

But why Italy's somewhat odd rock song won, many believe, depends on something completely different.

- Here, many people think that people are tired of nice ballads and maybe we are also a little angry after this difficult and calm year.

The song is filled with cockiness and anger, and people want a little rock n roll again, says Jennifer Wegerup.
