His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has directed to allocate 2.5 million dirhams to provide Sharjah libraries with the latest publications of Arab and foreign publishing houses participating in the activities of the 12th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival.

The initiative of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, embodies his vision of enriching public libraries in the Emirate of Sharjah with new and specific content dedicated to children, adolescents and youth, as Sharjah libraries are the incubator of knowledge for new generations and a place where they develop their skills and advance their culture.

The head of the Sharjah Book Authority, Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, said: “The initiative of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah carries constant messages annually regarding the need to support the book industry. Arab and foreign publishers ».

He added: “The effect of the generosity of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah is doubling this year, in light of the challenges that the Arab and global book market is facing from the challenges that the Coronavirus pandemic has imposed on publishers and writers, in addition to that it comes in the context of a great vision towards caring for new generations and providing everything that contributes. It is noteworthy that the festival is attended by 172 publishers from 15 Arab and foreign countries.
