From our special correspondent in Rotterdam (Netherlands)

No sooner had the glass of champagne celebrating Barbara Pravi's second place at Eurovision 2021 been swallowed than Internet users focused on a sequence that agitated social networks.

A Dutchman posted on Twitter a brief image broadcast on television during the live: it shows Damiano David, the singer of the Italian group Måneskin, installed on the sofa in the green room, leaning forward, while one of the his acolytes seem to give him a knee as they watch him look amused.

Hoe zit het eigenlijk wat betreft de dopingcontrole na afloop van het #Eurovision songfestival?

In the eyes of some Internet users, the artist was in the process of making a rail of coke, which the images do not allow to prove with certainty.

"We are really anti-drugs"

As the Måneskins won the competition, the question was posed to them during the press conference following their victory.

“Thomas [Ragg, the band's guitarist] broke a glass.

I do not take drugs ”, assured Damiano David.

A statement reaffirmed a little later by the Transalpins in their Instagram story.

They said they were “shocked” by the accusations and claimed to be “really anti-drugs”.

“We have never taken cocaine.

We are ready to be tested because we have nothing to hide, ”they insisted.

For the time being, the European Broadcasting Union, which oversees Eurovision, has not reacted on this subject.
