The Dordogne has decided to put the package on organic in the canteen.

At the start of the 2019 school year, the Pierre Fanlac college in Belvès was the first college in France, certified 100% organic.

This Tuesday, it is the school city Alcide Dusolier, which includes a college and a high school, which has just won the precious label.

Its canteen serves nearly 600 100% organic meals per day and the products come mostly (about 90%) from local agriculture.

In Nontron, a census work was carried out upstream to work with a dozen local farmers directly, associations and businesses in Périgord.

All this, without the families of the students feeling an additional cost on their bill, assures the Department, since the prices have not changed.

The objective in the coming years is to move towards a meal for one euro.

A total of 12 colleges are Ecocert labeled in Dordogne and all have started a labeling process.
