At the Peace Park in Hiroshima City, work was done to remove the list of victims of the atomic bomb from the memorial monument and let the air flow so that the list of victims of the atomic bomb would not be damaged by moisture.

This work is carried out by the city of Hiroshima every year at this time, and at the Peace Park in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City, 18 city officials prayed silently in front of the atomic bomb memorial at 8:15 am when the atomic bomb was dropped. I took out the list contained in the memorial monument and arranged it one by one on a white cloth.

There are 120 rosters, including the names of 324,129 people who died in Hiroshima by August 5, last year, and the dates of their deaths.

City officials flipped through the pages of the roster one by one to see if they were damaged.

Every year, the city of Hiroshima called on students on school trips to take a tour of the air as part of peace learning, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, it did not call for it as it did last year.

Tatsuya Sumita, Chief of the Investigation Division of the Hiroshima City Atomic Bomb Damage Countermeasures Department, said, "I worked with a feeling of mourning for the many victims of the atomic bomb. I want to convey the reality of the atomic bombing through the work. "

From next month, a bookkeeping will be made to add the name of the newly deceased person and will be placed in the memorial on August 6th.
