The freelance journalist's husband is charged with drug offenses after growing cannabis in the couple's house, something he admitted in police interrogation.

The drugs must have been a way for him to relieve a severe and chronic headache.

- I would understand the publication if it was me who was charged or suspected of a crime, now I am completely free on all counts and despite that they do a thing of this.

It affects my husband and he is not a public figure, says the freelance journalist.

"More of an Expressen profile"

The freelance journalist has worked for several major media players, including TV4, SVT, Swedish Radio and Expressen.

She reacts strongly to the fact that Expressen in the headline calls her an SR reporter.

- I was very shocked that they pulled so much on this with SR reporter.

I have never seen myself as such, I am a freelancer, she says.

She says that the longest continuous freelance assignment she has had was at Expressen's digging group and as a foreign correspondent for the newspaper.

- Actually, I am more of an Expressen profile than a Swedish radio profile, says the freelance journalist.

Why do you think they choose to call you an SR reporter?

- I understand that their angle was that they wanted to do something about "another SR reporter has done away with himself", she says and refers to the Eko reporter who started a relationship with a man who was classified as a threat to national security.

Reported to the media ombudsman

Expressen's responsible publisher Klas Granström believes that the article is of great public interest.

- It is about a well-known journalist who works for large media companies and who is profiled in criminal matters and who has been part of a legal process himself and via her husband who is now being prosecuted, he says.

The freelance journalist believes that the publication has caused great damage to her husband and he has reported Expressen to the Media Ombudsman.

- He has expressed suicidal thoughts and feels terribly bad after the publication, she says.

Klas Granström says that he cannot comment on the publicity damage that his husband is experiencing.

That they choose to call her an SR reporter, he explains by saying that it is a prominent assignment she has had in modern times and still has.
