The headliners are not yet known but Christian Estrosi has already promised "a national and international program" and "three groups per evening which will follow from 7 pm".

Canceled last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Nice jazz festival will take place in 2021 over five evenings, between July 12 and 17, the mayor of the Côte d'Azur capital confirmed on Monday.

“We worked on a format compatible with the constraints imposed by the health crisis.

We will be one of the rare festivals with an initially standing gauge to be maintained this summer, ”explained Christian Estrosi.

400 events throughout the summer

For the occasion, a single unique stage will be installed on Place Masséna and the spectators must all be seated.

"The gauge will be able to evolve from 1,672 places to 2,618 places according to the government announcements and in connection with the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes", also detailed Christian Estrosi.

In 2019, during the previous edition, the festival welcomed just over 8,500 spectators on average each evening.

At the beginning of June, the town hall should announce in detail its summer program "My Summer in Nice 2021".

It already announces "more than 400 meetings on 40 places, that is to say a proposal of events up by nearly 20% compared to last year".

More than 800 artists and intermittents should be concerned.
