The program will be unveiled Friday morning, around 8 a.m. But before knowing the guest-list of the biggest French festival, it is always good to know its outlines. Scheduled over ten days instead of four, the Vieilles Charrues will take place from July 8 to 18. The health context imposed by the Covid-19 epidemic will make it an edition like no other. Invited on Europe 1 this Tuesday morning, the festival director said that a single stage would be installed, close to the castle. An atypical configuration which will be reinforced by the presence of 2,500 chairs and bleachers allowing the public to remain seated, as recommended by the French government. “We will not be tied to our chair,” warns Jérôme Tréhorel.

Unlike other behemoths in the sector such as Hellfest or Eurockéennes, the biggest French festival will therefore take place.

"We absolutely wanted to celebrate the reunion, not to relive a silent summer", declared the director on Europe 1. In accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Culture, the gauge will be limited to 5,000 people per day, or 50,000 people welcomed over ten days (instead of 280,000 in the usual four days).

A compulsory health pass

To attend, festival-goers must have a health pass.

"A negative PCR test of less than 48 hours or a positive PCR test of more than 15 days, or complete vaccination", specifies Jérôme Tréhorel.

The program will be unveiled on Friday morning on the festival site.

"There will be nice surprises", promises its director.
