Seating furniture couldn't be simpler.

That is why the stool or stool, which has to get by without armrests and backrests, is so unappealing that it is better to hide it in the barn, in the basement or anywhere else - and still keep it within reach.

Because it is practical, especially when it is also adjustable in height.

Because of their simple functionality, stools have been on the rise again for some time: As popular side items, they are not missing in any seating furniture collection, also because our needs have changed.

Sitting for long periods is no longer necessary.

If you just want to open your laptop, you don't need a desk - the seat of a stool does too.

Holger Scharping was fascinated by stools as a child.

    Especially height-adjustable.

The trained carpenter from the small town of Karben in the Hessian Wetteraukreis has been working on the perfect stool for many years.

The most important criterion for him: The seat must not wobble.

Almost all stools that have a thread have in common that if they are turned out higher, they lurch and lose their balance.

The fifty-six year old knows from his own bad experience that the game can be up to two centimeters.

    A lifetime guarantee

The solution to the problem: a trapezoidal thread spindle as used in mechanical engineering. At Scharping, the thread is in a sleeve that absorbs the play. The three-part whole is made of untreated black steel, the parts come from the Regensburg area, unfortunately he has not found a high-quality supplier in Hesse. He processes the wood, natural or smoked oak, and assembles the stools himself by hand.

The tripods are available in three different adjustable heights: as a universal stool from 49 to 59, for the kitchen counter from 62 to 72 and for the bar counter from 80 to 90 centimeters. The legs of the two higher versions are made of steel because they also have a ring-shaped footrest. Scharping, whose label is called Schappo, as he has been called by his parents since childhood, gives his stools a lifelong guarantee - and is already working on other pieces of furniture: handmade side tables.
