The vaccine proves effective against the Indian mutant of the Coronavirus

A study conducted in India showed that the anti-corona vaccines are 97 percent effective against infection with an Indian mutant of the Corona virus.

The study included 3,235 health workers in India, 85 of whom were infected with the mutated Coronavirus, and all of them received AstraZeneca vaccines.

The result was the elimination of the virus by a large percentage, as only two people, out of 85, were hospitalized for treatment, after continuing to be infected with the virus.

"Our study showed that 97.38 percent of those who were vaccinated were protected from infection, and the rate for hospitalization was only 0.06 percent," said Anupam Sibal, medical director of the study.

Oxford professor of medicine Sir John Bell, where another study is underway, said the data so far was "fairly promising".
