Be wary of Internet "black and gray production" and its claws extend to college students

59% of the victims in transaction fraud cases are between 20 and 29 years old, and the main victims of rebate fraud, dating fraud, free delivery fraud, game fraud, and slaughter plate fraud are also between 20 and 29 years old. between.

A few days ago, a reporter from China Youth Daily and China Youth Daily learned from the Fengxian Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau that after years of collating and summarizing the deception incidents of college students in the Fengxian Harbor area, the bureau found that the Internet "black and gray industry" is spreading its magic claws. To college students.

"Naked Chat" has been extorted frequently and should be reported to the police immediately

"Uncle, wait a minute, I'm negotiating with the other party..." At about 23:00 on the evening of May 8, the police from the college police station of the Fengxian branch received a report from a student of East China University of Science and Technology in the area, saying that he was blackmailed.

That night, the student received a message on QQ from a stranger requesting a video chat while taking a bath. The other party offered a "naked chat", and the student who could not resist the temptation connected to the other party's video call.

After 1 minute, the other party suddenly hung up the video call, and sent a naked chat video and a screenshot of the address book in the student's phone, and threatened to send the video to his address book friend as a threat of 3,600 yuan for the hush fee.

The student dialed 110 to report to the police while dealing with each other.

After the police arrived at the scene, the other party was threatening the student on the phone, and the student was stopped by the police in time when he was about to transfer money.

Gao Meixiang, an instructor from the college police station of the Fengxian Public Security Bureau, recently led a team to frequently visit colleges and universities in the jurisdiction to "teach" college students, and specially brought out "naked chat", a category of fraud that has emerged in recent years, to explain in detail: "2021, due to video There is a high incidence of blackmailing in naked chat. I especially remind everyone to keep yourself clean. Once you encounter blackmail, don’t expect scammers to actually delete the video and let you feel relieved with compassion. If you dare to act, call the police immediately."

Telecom network fraud has become the number one case in colleges and universities

Gao Meixiang told reporters that telecommunications network fraud cases have now become the most common case in colleges and universities.

In recent years, the operation mode of telecommunications network fraud has shown a trend of professionalization and corporatization, and criminal methods have become more intelligent, gradually forming a complete chain of fine division of labor in various links such as "malicious registration-drainage-fraud-money laundering".

"Random fraud" and "precision fraud" are intertwined and become a new trend in telecommunications network fraud methods.

Gao Meixiang introduced that there are both "black" and "grey" parts in the online "black and gray production".

Generally, people interpret "black" as illegal and criminal behavior, and "gray" as some behavior that wanders on the edge of illegal and criminal behavior but is not clearly stipulated at the legislative level.

In the context of endless Internet technologies, the use of legal technologies on illegal targets, or the preparation of tools and conditions for downstream crimes, constitutes the main source of Internet black-and-ash products. Manifestations.

Taking order fraud as an example, part-time ordering is a gimmick with low threshold, wide audience, simple operation, and mostly making money, aiming at college students, mothers, and unemployed with relatively weak awareness of prevention.

A student in a school completed the first order of 120 yuan, and immediately received a principal and commission of 126 yuan.

This student felt that doing part-time jobs was indeed a good way to make money, and decided to continue doing it, but was eventually cheated of nearly 10,000 yuan.

In the process of order fraud, the scammers hyped up information such as "one single settlement without leaving the house", "earning hundreds of monthly incomes over 10,000" and other information. After a large investment, they used the routines of "upgrading members to continue to swipe orders, one task includes multiple orders before rebate, and the company will pay for the orders without deducting the principal" and other routines for fraud.

Gao Meixiang introduced that the amount of fraud victims contacted by college police stations ranged from a few hundred yuan to tens of thousands of yuan. The goods used for the order fraud included garbage bags, clothes, mobile phones, computers, cars, and so on.

In the process of swiping the order, the criminal suspect will also threaten the victim. If the task is not completed, all the initial funds will be lost.

Killing pig trays, customer service refunds, etc. are "severely hit areas"

Among the "black and gray products" on the Internet, some fraudulent activities are the "hardest hit areas" where college students are deceived.

Xiaoqian (pseudonym), a female college student in a university in Shanghai, got to know the male netizen Pan through a dating software. She couldn't help her gentle offensive, and soon developed into a boy and girl friend and lived with her.

During the exchange between the two parties, Xiaoqian was defrauded of more than 60,000 yuan by Pan for different reasons.

The policeman handling the case told reporters: "After confirming the relationship, the scammer will mention the way to make money according to the script, and play the emotional card, depicting the good life of buying a house, car, and traveling with children after making money." Usually, the other party will seduce. The victim makes extra money by playing gambling or investing.

The pig slaughter plate is characterized by a long period of "pig raising" and a large amount of "pig slaughter". Usually the "butcher" will be hidden in each "pigsty". The goal is to select high-quality "piglets" and start "raising piglets" after finding them. Pigs, and then put "pig feed" into the "pig trough" every day, and finally lure the fattening "pigs" into the "slaughterhouse" of love.

Gao Meixiang pointed out that in recent years, there has been a high incidence of telecommunications frauds posing as various types of customer service. They pretended to be a courier company, claiming to provide compensation for loss of express delivery, pretending to be campus loan customer service, saying that they would cancel their loan account, pretending to be Tmall customer service, and saying that "VIP" would be cancelled. Members, etc., fraudulent methods have gradually increased.

"Customer Service Refund" is a scam that college students are particularly vulnerable to.

In May 2020, Ronaldinho (pseudonym), a college student, received an unfamiliar phone call. The other party said that a piece of clothing worth 260 yuan purchased online had excessive formaldehyde and he had to be paid and retrieved.

If Ronaldinho's Sesame Credit exceeds 600 points, he can get double compensation.

Ronaldinho's Sesame credit score is less than 600, "customer service" said, it can be improved in a short time.

According to the other party's prompt, Ronaldinho borrowed 1,300 yuan and 2,500 yuan respectively through the installment loan platform.

The other party said that these loans are repaid by the shop, and Ronaldinho only needs to give the customer service the 3280 yuan after deducting the double purchase price.

But after the successful remittance, Ronaldinho was unable to contact her, and the two loans actually appeared in her name. She also received a notice for repayment.

"Regular shopping platforms will not refund in the form of links or QR codes. Even if refunds are made, they must be operated in accordance with the norms on the formal e-commerce platform." Gao Meixiang reminded college students not to blindly trust the phone number of online shopping refunds. When it is mentioned that multiple remittances need to be returned or refunded through other channels other than the shopping platform, it can be determined to be a scam.
