Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City announced on the 17th that it was confirmed that 24 new people were infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture.
It also announced that three new people had died.
The cumulative number of infected people in Miyagi prefecture is 8577, including those who have already recovered, and 78 people have died.
