Corona, a British peg for the Red List!

The hypothesis of political and economic reasons behind the red lists issued by countries cannot be excluded, and it is assumed that they reflect the extent of the spread of the Corona virus, according to which the process of entry of travelers to them is restricted, and they are subjected to institutional quarantine for a period ranging between one and two weeks, according to the system of each country.

It is never excluded that the Corona virus is completely innocent from this list, and that it is just a façade for other reasons, related to competition or economic envy, or any other reason other than the level of risk of spreading the virus. As long as there are still no approved international standards for classifying green, yellow and red lists, and there are no global red lists originally approved by reliable international organizations or bodies, the matter is subject to interpretation, exploitation and misleading as well!

Within this context, it is necessary to refer to the speech of the British Minister of Transport, Grant Shaps, commenting on the continued position of the UAE on the British Red List, as he said: “The UAE is on the United Kingdom’s Red List due to its position as an international transit center, despite the declining infection trends, And being the owner of the second fastest vaccination campaign in the world. The logical question here: Where is the relationship between the UAE being an international transit center, and the degree of danger and spread of the virus? Is there not a big difference between travelers transiting through a country and residing in the same country? Is it possible for Britain to quarantine those coming from the Emirates, because it is a famous international center for transit and transit ?! Is there a point of connection, communication, or mixing between transients through the UAE airports and their residents ?!

The strange thing is that countries are supposed to put the red list based on the number of daily injuries and deaths compared to the number of population, and the British minister acknowledges and acknowledges in his statement that infection trends are declining in the UAE, which is the owner of the second fastest vaccination campaign in the world, and he even confirmed it frankly and clearly. : “We are not restricted because of the level of the Corona virus they have, the issue is the issue of transit,” and this is what the countries of the world have not agreed upon, and there is no health basis for it in any approved global health organization or body!

As it is clear, putting the UAE on the red list for reasons related to transit is meaningless, because passengers can pass through other routes. So are we now required to believe that Corona is the reason for placing the UAE on the British Red List ?!

It is not only us who bemoaned and surprised this decision, as the British themselves are complaining about this decision, and there are more than 120,000 Britons living in the Emirates, they and their family members, unconvinced of the reason mentioned by the minister, and they are deeply upset by their government's decision, and there are Britons who launched an electronic petition to demand the government The British government has removed the UAE from the Red List, reflecting the growing frustration they feel about travel restrictions and the cost of quarantine on one of the busiest air travel routes in the world.

Is it not very clear that Corona is a British peg to hide the true reasons for placing the UAE on the red list ?!
