Three donors sponsored the assistance of “Souad - 60 years old” with 21,200 dirhams, to renew her health insurance cards for her and her family, due to her need for monthly treatment, after undergoing a kidney transplant 10 years ago.

A donor sponsored 9,500 dirhams, a donor sponsored 10,000 dirhams, and the latter donated 1,700 dirhams.

The "hotline" coordinated between the donors and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai to transfer the donation amount to the patient's account at Daman Health Insurance Company.

On May 9th, Emirates Today published the story of Suad’s suffering with illness, and her inability to obtain the amount of renewal of health insurance cards for her and her family members, given the circumstances they are going through.

"Souad" expressed her happiness and deep thanks to the donors and their support for her suffering and her family members in light of the difficult circumstances they are going through.

Souad suffers kidney failure for 14 years, and continued dialysis for four years, until she was able to perform a kidney transplant surgery. According to Tawam Hospital in Al-Ain, the patient needs monthly medications, so that her condition does not relapse and develop another kidney failure.

Suad tells her story to Emirates Today, saying: “14 years ago, I suffered kidney failure, which caused me difficult health suffering. I was hospitalized and underwent dialysis sessions for four years, and given my poor health, and the ineffectiveness of the medicines prescribed by doctors in During that period, I had a kidney transplant 10 years ago and it was successful, and I continued to take medications after that.

And she continued: “I used to go to Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, and the doctors decided that I needed monthly medications, which are expensive in relation to my modest financial capabilities, but unfortunately the health insurance card was preventing me from treatment, because it was expired and needed to be renewed, and the health company required to renew my card that Renewal is done for my family members at a cost of 21,200 dirhams, and this is an amount that exceeds my family's modest financial capabilities, and I do not know how to procure the amount.

She added: “My residency is attached to my husband, and he holds a humanitarian residency, and he does not receive any monthly salary, after his services were terminated a while ago, and we have no income except through the salary of my son who works in a private sector company with a modest salary, barely covering his living expenses, and my family depends Currently on the humanitarian aid, and some simple housework that I do to keep up with the requirements of living and life conditions ».

She indicated that her family consists of her husband and seven children. Her husband had previously applied for aid from charitable organizations and institutions, and he did not receive a response.
