The cinemas will finally be able to reopen from Wednesday after months of closure.

At Max Linder, a Parisian cinema, we are impatiently awaiting the return of the spectators, and the first scheduled screening is already sold out.

For moviegoers, the long-awaited day draws near.

From Wednesday, and after seven months of closure due to the coronavirus epidemic, cinemas will finally be able to reopen their doors.

And in the theaters, the managers are on the bridge to prepare the reception of the customers, like at Max Linder, one of the oldest cinema in Paris, where the teams are in a hurry to find their spectators.

The projector on the way, the credits on the big screen ... In his cabin, José, the cinematographer, tests his projection equipment, very moved at the idea of ​​finally finding his audience.

"The cinema does not live without its audience. It's like a dish without sauce, it's a little bland", he confides to Europe 1. And to give back taste to the cinephiles, only one film will be at the poster of this single-screen cinema: 

Mandible

 of the eccentric Quentin Dupieux.

"Our first session is complete"

Claudine Cornillat, the manager, is confident for this reopening.

"We already have messages that tell us 'finally', 'great', 'we will be there'," she says.

"Our first session, Wednesday evening at 7 pm, is complete," she says again.

"I'm going to see people because there I only see ghosts when I'm in this room. I'm going to see people and smell them, hear them." 

The black foam armchairs in the room will accommodate 200 people out of the 560 seats.

The gauge will be able to climb to nearly 360 from June 9.
