For several years, Niger has been confronted with an upsurge in armed insurgencies which have caused significant forced population displacements in the region.
The terrorist attacks have led to the massive displacement of populations, weakened social cohesion and destabilized the local economy.
To try to get out of this situation, Niger and its neighboring countries, with the support of the UNDP, are putting in place strategies for the stabilization and recovery of these severely affected areas.
