China News Service, Baoshan, May 14 (Yu Yunjiang and Cai Shuangfa) "It's taken!" On the 13th, Cai Shuangfa, a wildlife photography enthusiast in Mucheng Township, Longling County, Yunnan Province, accidentally photographed a group of people with "scalp" and "hairstyle" on their heads. The monkey was identified by Sun Guozheng, a senior engineer and doctor of zoology of Kunming Survey and Design Institute of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, and was identified as a national first-level key protected wild animal of the northern dolphin.

On that day, when Cai Shuangfa and the staff of the forestry station went to patrol the Nu River (Longling area), they found more than 10 monkeys jumping around on the canopy of the tall arbor forest in the distance.

Cai Shuangfa immediately took out the camera and recorded their presence.

"These monkeys are very cute. The'hairstyle' is a'little flat head', and the long and thin tails are half-turned."

Sun Guozheng said: "The northern pig-tailed monkey is also called the flat-headed monkey. The two names highlight the two characteristics of this monkey-a pig-like tail and a slab-inch hair style. The northern pig-tailed monkey is skilled. Agile, high requirements for the living environment, secretive actions, no trace, it is generally difficult to take pictures of its whereabouts, and it is really gratifying to be able to take pictures of them in the wild."

The northern pig-tailed monkey is mainly distributed in Tibet, southern Yunnan and northern Indochina Peninsula. It is a diurnal, omnivorous animal.

They often travel in groups of 20 or 30 and live a "family" group life. They mainly choose evergreen or semi-evergreen broad-leaved forest areas with sufficient food sources, high ecological environment quality, and dense foliage as their habitats.

The northern pig-tailed monkey has been included in China's "National Key Protected Wildlife List" first-level protected animal, "World Conservation Union" (IUCN) 2013 Endangered Species Red List ver3.1-Vulnerable (VU) species and " "China Red Book of Endangered Animals" Endangered Species.

The good natural ecological environment creates natural habitats for the survival and habitation of wild animals.

In recent years, Longling County has focused on restoring wildlife habitats and vulnerable areas, relying on the implementation of returning farmland to forests and grasses, closing hills for afforestation, and afforestation, and has continued to promote wearing "green hats" on hillsides and wearing "green clothes on mountainsides". ", the ecological restoration project of wearing "green boots" at the foot of the mountain.

The county's forest coverage rate has increased from 26.9% in 1978 to the current 73.62%, and the grassland comprehensive vegetation coverage has increased from 78.75% in 2017 to the current 81.39%.

The quality of the natural ecological environment has been improved, and the habitat for wild animals has been expanded. A new pattern of harmonious coexistence between man and nature has begun to take shape.
