On May 13, groups of bar-tailed godwits searched for food at the mouth of Loushan River in Jiaozhou Bay, Qingdao.

It is understood that the bar-tailed godwit mainly overwinters in Australia and New Zealand, migrates north in spring, reaches the tundra of Siberia in Russia and Alaska in the United States to breed, and then returns in autumn.

The small seafood on the mud flats of Loushan River Mouth is the favorite of Madara-tailed Godwits. When they flew from the southern hemisphere to Qingdao, their weight had dropped by nearly half, and they needed to recharge their energy to continue their journey.
