Nemuro City, Hokkaido, announced on the 10th that the Chishima cherry tree, which it is observing independently, has blossomed.

It is the latest flowering declaration in the whole country.

In Nemuro City, since the weather station of the Japan Meteorological Agency was closed 11 years ago, the city and the tourism association have taken over and are observing Chishima cherry blossoms independently.

On the 10th, in Nemuro City, the temperature rose from the morning, and after confirming that five or more flowers were blooming on the sample tree that the staff and others used as a guideline for flowering, it was announced that "cherry blossoms have bloomed."

Flowering in Nemuro is one day later than last year and eight days earlier than normal.

At the observation points of meteorological observatories all over the country, all the flowers have bloomed by the 8th, and Nemuro City is said to be the latest flowering declaration in the country.

Miki Inada of the Nemuro City Tourism Association said, "Since you can see the short Chishima cherry tree up close, I want you to feel the expression and scent of the flowers with your whole body."

The cherry blossoms in Nemuro will be in full bloom from this week to next week.
