Recently, in a dumpling restaurant in Jiangbei District, Chongqing, an old man from Fujian who was traveling to Chongqing suddenly slumped on a chair and lost consciousness. The accompanying family members were confused and at a loss.

At this time, Ma Ben, a general doctor at the Cancer Hospital of Chongqing University, took his family to eat in the store. After seeing the situation of the elderly, he quickly came to the elderly with the keen insight of emergency patients and immediately assessed the condition .

"At that time, the old man was in a critical condition. Breathing and heartbeat stopped, the pulse of the aorta disappeared, and his pupils dilated." Ma Ben recalled.

Realizing that the elderly’s situation was critical, Ma Ben first informed the family that he was a doctor. After obtaining the family’s consent, he immediately implemented on-site first aid and instructed the family to dial 120.

He first laid the old man flat on the ground, placed the resuscitation position, and then began to perform chest heart compressions.

Fortunately, after Ma Ben’s timely and effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the old man’s breathing and heartbeat began to recover, and his consciousness gradually became clear. Finally, he directly asked to sit up and walk into the ambulance.
