Spain: The 10 most sought after towns on the Internet to travel
Accommodation. Six charming rural hotels for less than 90 euros
Summer is just around the corner and the desire to make up for lost time seems to be entering the
tourism sector
with force
. At least that is what is glimpsed when analyzing data like this: reservations to travel during the summer season have shot
up to 68% in recent weeks
, with Spain being the priority destination. Not surprisingly, 60% of reservations correspond to domestic destinations, while
Europeans are gaining ground
with 22% and long-distance ones already account for 16% of the total.
These are the conclusions of a report prepared by the
online
travel agency
Rumbo, which also reveals the drop in prices of up to 30% compared to last summer.
It is the
flight and hotel vacation packages
that have shot up bookings to 68%, while hotel-only
packages
have dropped to 44%.
Also attracting interest are the so-called
Flash Sale offers
or great discounts available only for a few hours.
Reservations a month and a half in advance
Furthermore, an even greater increase in reserves is expected after the possible
lifting of the state of alarm
.
It is in June, July and August where
the bulk of bookings
are concentrated
,
especially July, which currently accounts for 12% of the total sales made in the last week in Rumbo, which offers a campaign that celebrates the fact of returning to finally travel with special promotions for the summer period.

As the dates approach and the uncertainty about the travel restrictions of some destinations dissipates, the
upward trend
is reinforced, also taking into account that it is a
last minute
summer
: the Spanish are booking in advance of about a month and a half, with departures in the middle and end of June and so on progressively.
Spain, the priority destination
Searches maintain a growth of 18% week to week.
Spain will once again be the main protagonist, being the
sun and beach
enclaves
the big stars.
The opening that coastal destinations are showing and the offers of
flight + hotel packages
have made departures for those dates represent more than 60% of the bookings of Spaniards according to Rumbo.
Italy (Rome, pictured) is the preferred European destination for travel.
Lanzarote heads the top of sales, followed by Menorca,
Mallorca
and Ibiza.
The landscapes of unusual nature, its secluded and quiet coves with
crystalline waters
and the diversity of enclaves where you can disconnect without crowds have made these places the most desired.
Tenerife and Fuerteventura
also slip into the ranking
.
They are followed by the Costa de la Luz and Formentera.
Looking to Europe and beyond
The recent announcement by the European Commission in which it urges the countries of the Union to
relax restrictions
on leisure travel has provided an incentive to move.
In this sense, the destinations of the Old Continent already account for 22% of global sales.
Italy, France, the Netherlands and Portugal
top the list in that order.
As for the long-distance countries, to date they account for 16% of the reservations made from Spain.
The United States
and
Mexico
are the most popular options at the moment.
