Recently, Zhang Zhisheng's research team from Southwest University discovered two new spider species for the first time in Jinyun Mountain, Beibei District, Chongqing, named after the Jinyun three-nested spider and the nine-toothed three-nested spider, adding new members to the world spider species map.

Professor Zhang Zhisheng, a doctoral supervisor in the School of Life Sciences of Southwest University, said that the team collected these two spider specimens in 2010. Because the egg-shaped spider is small, less than 3 mm, identification is difficult.

After cooperating with the team of Professor Yanfeng Tong from Shenyang Normal University and researcher Li Shuqiang from the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, it was confirmed that these two spiders were new species.

The results were published in the "European Taxonomy" at the end of April this year, and the two new species were also included in the "World Spider List".
