Chen, who was supposed to be a cub from Chongqing, was lost when he was 4 years old, but is now a 38-year-old strong man from Shandong.
For 34 years, the family and the police have never given up searching. On April 25 this year, with the joint efforts of the abduction police in Yuzhong, Chongqing and Heze, Shandong, through DNA comparisons, it was finally confirmed that Chen and his father Mr. Chen and his mother Ms. Yang Kinship.
The family finally ushered in the long-awaited reunion and hug.
On October 30, 1987, the day Chen was lost was a nightmare for his parents.
Father Chen told reporters, “The baby was at the nursery school on Cangbai Road in Yuzhong District. His grandfather picked it up from school at 3 o’clock that afternoon. He went home and passed the bookstore to buy books for his grandson. The child was playing with his grandfather’s walking stick. After turning around, the walking stick was still there when I turned around, but the person was gone. Grandpa looked outside alone for three or four hours. It was not until 7 o'clock that night that he returned home exhausted and cried that his grandson had been lost."
For a long time, Chen's family kept going to nurseries, relatives and friends' homes to look around.

After receiving the case, the Criminal Investigation Detachment continued to look for it with all its strength, repeatedly visiting the masses on the spot, tracking the trajectory of the action, publishing the case for collaboration, and mobilizing relatives and friends to search; family members also posted tracing notices on TV and radio stations, and tried every possible means to visit the child’s possible whereabouts, but did not find out. There is no news of valuable clues ever since.
The grandfather of the child passed away in 1993, and he was still worried about his lost grandson before his death.
It is also the last wish of the elderly to find ways to get the children back.
Ms. Yang said that for 34 years, she has kept her child's household registration, and she is determined not to lose it. There is also a photo of him when she was a child. She firmly believes that she will find it in the rest of her life.
In recent years, with the continuous improvement of criminal science and technology, the Criminal Investigation Detachment of the Public Security Branch of Yuzhong District and Chaotianmen and Dayanggou Police Stations reorganized and supplemented case information, extracted biological samples of the children's parents for DNA testing and put them in the database for comparison.
Since the launch of the 2021 reunion operation of the Ministry of Public Security, Chongqing Yuzhong Police has set up a special work class, led by the Criminal Investigation Detachment, in accordance with the principle of "one information, one file, one working group", to identify and implement the information of local missing children one by one, carry out investigation, verification, collection and entry At work, the blood samples of Mr. Chen and Ms. Yang were collected again, and the review information (after adding STR sites for DNA testing) was uploaded to the National Anti-trafficking Database.
On April 8 this year, the results of the DNA comparison of the national anti-trafficking database were announced, and the relationship with Chen Bo collected by the Public Security Bureau of Heze City, Shandong Province was established.
After inspection and review, on April 25, the DNA testimony confirmed their kinship.
In the near future, public security organs across the country will sort out and check the families of adopting children, collect blood samples, and enter the DNA database for comparison. It is believed that it will help more separated families reunite in the future.
