Twitter announces the upcoming launch of a new feature, an online tip system that allows everyone to financially support, from their profile page, certain users, whom the teams of the social network identify as "content creators" .

It will soon be possible to earn money on Twitter.

After fleets, birdwatch and audio chat rooms, the social network announces the upcoming launch of a new feature: "tip jar" ("tip jar" or "piggy bank" in French).

This online tip system can only be activated on their profile pages by certain users, selected by the company's teams, but all people registered on this social network will be able to give money to it.

Retain the "content creators"

"Tip jar" will indeed make it possible to make donations to certain users, those that the social network calls "content creators": experts, journalists, NGOs, among others.

They are the only ones who will be able to add this piggy bank to their profile.

But all tweeters will be able to click on this tool to finance them.

Twitter's goal is to retain these creators.

The social network in fact integrates into its system an element that is already in the use of Internet users.

Those who produce video, sound or written content for free often offer links to personal pools to finance their productions.

Rather than going through external platforms, they will now be able to go directly through Twitter.
