Yokoshibahikari Town, Chiba Prefecture, which had been a preliminary training camp for Belize in Central America for the Tokyo Olympics, decided to stop accepting it because it could not secure the safety of athletes as the infection of the new coronavirus continued to spread in Japan. I did.

Yokoshibahikari Town in the northeastern part of Chiba Prefecture accepted a preliminary training camp for the Belize athletes for the Tokyo Olympics, and decided to provide accommodation and practice areas for about 10 athletes.

However, according to the town, as the infection of the new coronavirus continues to spread in Japan, it was accepted on the 28th of last month after discussing with the Belize side that it was not possible to ensure the safety of the athletes, considering the medical care provision system of the town. It means that I decided to cancel.

In response to this, the team will not hold a training camp in advance, and after entering Japan, it is expected that they will enter the Olympic Village in Tokyo as it is.

In addition, the exchange event between the players and the townspeople scheduled after the tournament will be cancelled.

Until now, Yokoshibahikari Town has been deepening exchanges by inviting percussion orchestras from the field as a host town in Belize to hold concerts and sending masks after the spread of infection.

Regarding this decision, Yokoshibahikari says, "I'm very sorry that I've been supporting the whole town so far, but I would like to consider whether I can interact with the players online."
