Judging by the report of the native headquarters of the Estonian Defense Forces, the NATO military exercises under the quite symbolic name Swift Response ("Quick response"), which are, in fact, the first stage of the largest exercise in the past quarter century with the even more symbolic name Defender Europe ("Defender Europe "), in this area of the future European theater of military operations are already being successfully carried out.
First, artillerymen of the 41st field artillery brigade of the US Ground Forces are fired from multiple launch systems, then soldiers of the 82nd airborne division of the American army are parachuted to the Nurmsi airfield in Järvamaa county in Estonia, who will be transferred along with the equipment to be dropped from a base in North Carolina ... In total, about 2.5 thousand American and British troops will take part in the exercises, somewhat diluted with a variety of service personnel from among the native units.
The geography of the maneuvers is also impressive, which (for a moment) covers the territories of 16 countries: according to the organizers of the event, apparently, the territories of the future European theater of operations (theater of military operations). And quite an impressive number of military personnel take part in them - 28 thousand (but these are already details). The transfer of military equipment is also impressive: officially - at least 1200 units. And so that there are no unnecessary illusions, we separately note that, in addition to Estonia, the American training landing will also take place in Bulgaria and Romania - the Black Sea direction is no worse than the Baltic one, what is there more to say about this.
As a matter of fact, they are not hiding anything, we will quote: “During the exercise, we will practice what is called a combined-arms assault operation, improve our anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense, conduct live firing and command-and-staff games. Thus, we will train both muscles and intelligence. And we are confident that we will eventually increase combat readiness in all areas. " This (about working out, we will note separately, namely the combined-arms airborne assault operation) is said not by some "Russian propagandist with RT", but by the whole General Walters, who quite officially represents not anyone there, but directly the US army.
What can I say here? It is clear that, in fact, from a purely military point of view, this event is completely meaningless: if Europe still manages to turn into a European theater of operations with a modern Russian military machine, then the European theater of operations will not be helped in any way by the lightly armed (paratroopers after all) American expeditionary force. , neither ineffective, despite the number, the native European armies (even in Libya, without the United States, they could not cope, what can I say about Russia), nor even the American air defense and missile defense systems, designed more to protect the borders of the overseas continent, despite their European dislocation.
There is nothing special to learn there, in short: if something, God forbid, starts there, then everything will be completely different.
No, the idea of the American scriptwriters is quite understandable, they have talked about this more than once: neither the United States nor the Russian Federation, which in the military sense are global nuclear superpowers, are not interested in transferring hostilities on each other's territory.
For the system of mutual containment (and, which is shamefully silent about, mutual destruction) has not yet been canceled.
And the aggression on the crown lands of even Russia, even though the United States will be considered here unambiguously, no one has any illusions here.
So let's say let's fight with the Russians for Warsaw.
For the same Kiev, perhaps, is not worth it, no matter who means that purely propaganda, but here the Russians can be seriously and very painfully offended.
Here, after all, it is not important how everything is legalized there - it is important (let's be realists) that they, the Russians, can still consider Kiev their lands.

Exactly as in that obscene, but extremely accurate joke: you understand, child, in order to protect you in the future from a potential rapist, right now you should lie down a little more comfortably.
And it is for this, by the way, quite everyday reason that they shouted so much about our "aggressiveness" when we conducted our exercises, I emphasize once again - on our own territory (moreover, in order to reduce the tension, the Russian Federation completed the exercises exactly and on time, the troops and equipment have long been assigned to their permanent locations).
These are no longer double standards, this is already such a Russian folk saying about the fact that a thief and a hat is on fire.
That, in fact, is all.
And none of the Russian (planned, note!) Exercises that our country conducted on its own territory, in the current circumstances, has nothing to do with Defender Europe 2021, in which the Americans are going to learn how to protect Europeans from us, has nothing to do with it.
The picture doesn't add up, sorry.
Including because in Russia, and in Europe, and even in the United States, they understand perfectly well: for Russia, any militaristic movement in the European theater of operations is like a nightmare.
But not because Russia is afraid of someone there - there is no one there to be particularly afraid of.
It's just that these are its basic and traditional sales markets, including energy products that are important to us.
And it would be somehow completely, in any pragmatic view, wrong to use its really existing striking power on its own markets.
