The number of French people having made an appointment on Doctolib for a vaccine against Covid-19 increased by 50% in one week, affirms on Europe 1 Stanislas Niox-Chateau, founder of the platform.

Those under 55 now represent two thirds of the meetings.

INTERVIEW

This is proof by the figures of the acceleration of the vaccine campaign against Covid-19 in France.

No less than "1.9 million French" have made a vaccination appointment on Doctolib in the last seven days, said the founder of the platform, Stanislas Niox-Chateau, on Tuesday evening on Europe 1. A number up "50%" compared to the previous week, with younger profiles.

More than 300,000 appointments made per day

This rise in power "is mainly explained by the increase in the number of Pfizer doses received by the vaccination centers", according to Stanislas Niox-Chateau.

"France receives a little more than 2.5 million doses per week and the centers have made appointments available for these doses".

Result: "A little more than 300,000 French people make their vaccination appointment on Doctolib every day."

Four French regions "derive this acceleration" from the number of meetings, details the founder of the platform: Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Grand-Est and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, "which have almost doubled their number of vaccination appointments over the past seven days ".

Distrust of AstraZeneca translates into numbers

What about the vaccinated populations, five days after the opening of the campaign to those under 55 years of age with co-morbidity with the virus? "These under 55s represented 25% of appointments a week ago and they represent two thirds of appointments over the last 3-4 days," says Stanislas Niox-Chateau. Impossible, however, to measure a possible impatience of adults without health problems for the moment ineligible, who will all be from June 15: "The centers have a visibility at 15 days, three weeks maximum."

Regarding the different serums, the founder of Doctolib finally confirms to see by the figures the mistrust of the French towards the AstraZeneca vaccine. "There are fewer appointments made today, roughly 40,000 to 50,000 with AstraZeneca each day, whereas we could be between 100 and 150,000". The slots for Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are "all taken".
