[Explanation] Stone mills, threshing machines, bamboo dragonflies, these small ornaments designed and made of logs are particularly eye-catching. They are all made by a "post-90s" Miao girl Tang Wenlinan.

After graduating from university, Tang Wenlinan did not miss city life, but chose to return to her hometown for development, incorporating Miao cultural elements into the log furniture design to help revitalize the countryside in her hometown.

[Explanation] Wearing a traditional Miao costume with a small apron, Tang Wenlinan is cutting wood quickly in front of the workbench.

[Explanation] Tang Wenlinan, who was born in 1993, studied architectural design at the university. After graduation, she married a carpenter family in Miao Village, a teaching factory.

Relying on the professional knowledge she learned in university, Tang Wenlinan started design creation in her log workshop.

Because my grandfather was also a carpenter. He used to be a stilt house. If he lived by his side since he was a child, he had been dealing with these woods. Later, because my father went to work outside, he also made wood and other things. So staying with them all the time, and dealing with these woods in life.

【Explanation】Walking into Tang Wenlinan’s home, the wooden home environment carefully crafted by her is exquisite and comfortable.

In addition to Miao characteristic log furniture, there are also wooden crafts and wooden toys designed by her.

On weekdays, Tang Wenlinan is responsible for the design, while her father-in-law and relatives are responsible for the implementation of the production.

The designer meets the carpenter, and this combination also makes the original boring wood aura.

My main design inspiration is to keep this log as much as possible, just like I keep the original ecological form of our Miao family, and combine some of the farming culture of our Miao family to make some handicrafts.

[Explanation] Thanks to the development of tourism, in recent years, more and more tourists have entered the Miao Village to feel the charm of Guizhou's national culture.

Tang Wenlinan also took advantage of the development of Leishan rural tourism and the boom of the homestay economy to design and manufacture log furniture and handicrafts rich in Miao characteristics, and promoted herself through the media platform.

The hope is that our original furniture, rich in national culture, can have a place in the modern furniture market, and then enter millions of households.

[Explanation] After more than three years of development, Tang Wenlinan's log furniture factory has become famous in the local area.

Many homestays and restaurants also find their custom-made furniture.

For the future, she and her husband are also planning to build a wooden work experience hall to showcase the Miao culture and drive the nearby villagers to find employment.

In the next step, I would like to make a woodwork experience (pavilion) in Xijiang, so that they can feel how the Miao stilted building was built.
