After a summer of insemination rituals, Julia, the friend of the main character in Kristofer Folkhammar's book Is it the children, baby ?, becomes pregnant.

They are going to be parents, but have never slept with each other and are not a couple.

The main character is instead torn between the love of the confident boyfriend Alexander and the elusive, former lover, Jeremie.

- I myself have children in the same way as the main character in the book and have had my fair share of tangled love relationships.

There has been my own longing to have this embodied in fiction, I have probably seen a gap there, says the author Kristofer Folkhammar.

Parenting and triangle drama

The book is written as a letter, which the main character during a summer night writes to a friend.

The letter expands into a story about everything from coming out to inseminating.

But it is also about writing, about love, loneliness, sex and becoming a parent.

- The main character does not really know what the relationship with the co-parent, the child's mother, should look like.

And he also does not really know how to organize his love life, where he is drawn into a triangle drama, says Kristofer Folkhammar.
