"Why did I run into the guerrillas at such a young age? I joined because of my sister." At the Lion Pavilion on Guanyin Mountain in Sha Tin, Hong Kong, the 86-year-old former Dongjiang Column Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade veteran guerrilla sorority president Lin Lin Zhen told a reporter from China News Agency.

The guerrilla in Lin Zhen’s mouth is the Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade (Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade) of the Dongjiang Column, which has established itself in the annals of history.

On the day after the Japanese invaders attacked Hong Kong on December 8, 1941, the Guangdong People's Anti-Japanese Guerrilla (the predecessor of the Dongjiang Column) led by the Chinese Communist Party sent capable armed forces into Hong Kong to fight against Japan.

In February 1942, the Guangdong People's Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Group formally established the Hong Kong-Kowloon Independent Brigade, becoming the only anti-Japanese armed force during the occupation of Hong Kong.

Lin Zhen's sister, Lin Zhan, made great contributions to the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade.

According to the information, Lin Zhan initially worked in the International Working Group of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade, and later served as the translator for Zeng Sheng, the head of the enemy engineering department and commander of the Dongjiang Column.

"My father was in the second phase of the Whampoa Military Academy. He participated in the Northern Expedition. Later, he saw the Kuomintang massacred the Communist Party and retired to come to Hong Kong as a teacher. He married my mother in Hong Kong, but he passed away shortly after I was born. He was patriotic. It has an impact on the family. My sister was admitted to the University of Hong Kong but had no money. She went to society in 1938 and later participated in the revolution.” Lin Zhen recalled that her family history was deeply imprinted on the tragic years. Imprint.

"After the fall of Hong Kong, my sister stayed in an apartment of the Japanese army as a laundryman to collect information because her identity was not disclosed. One day, the Japanese army insulted my sister before falsely accusing her of stealing the military ticket, and took her back to my home and tied her to the railing. I was beaten in front of my mother and me for more than two hours, and the beating made my sister fainted and splashed water again. She stabbed my sister in the neck with a big knife. My sister shouted:'Brother and sister, if I am killed You must give me revenge."" Lin Zhen choked with voice and tears in her eyes when she recalled the unbearable past. "My sister never cried during the whole process, and my mother can't stop it there. We can only Gritting his teeth. After the incident, my mother said to her sister:'We can't sit at home and wait any longer. Let's go and fight the Japanese devil with you.'"

In December 1943, 8-year-old Lin Zhen became a "little ghost trafficman" for the Hong Kong Kowloon Brigade, and later as a paramedic for the wounded.

"We have 6 members, 4 of them formally joined the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade." Lin Zhen said with pride: "I don't think this history can be forgotten. Although I have experienced many different environments later, I think it's a great way to go this way. correct."

On the monument to the Anti-Japanese Martyrs in Chian Chuk Bay, Sai Kung, Hong Kong, there is an inscription: In the difficult years of three years and eight months, guerrilla fighters were active in high mountains, harbours and bays, in Tianchou villages, countryside and jungles, and the people. Connected with flesh and blood, like a fish in the water, eliminating bandits and trespasses, defeating the enemy, rescuing cultural elites, and supporting the Allied forces... This is the true portrayal of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade.

On December 28, 1998, Tung Chee-hwa, the then Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, placed the list of 115 martyrs killed by the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade in the Hong Kong City Hall for the public to pay tribute, and declared that the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade "was an official armed force during the occupation of Hong Kong. , Has made a significant contribution in the battle to defend Hong Kong."

"It has been almost 24 years since Hong Kong returned to China. Someone used foreign forces to talk about this history upside down and distorted the struggle of the year. Therefore, there must be a real teaching material to fully and completely preserve this history. "As Lin Zhen said, she walked to a higher level of Guanyin Mountain, and stopped on a wide viewing platform, where you can see the location of the former Kai Tak Airport in the distance.

Lin Zhen told a reporter from China News Agency that the intelligence personnel of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade collected a large amount of accurate Japanese intelligence from the observation deck that year. The US military praised the intelligence work of the Dongjiang Column "for making a decisive contribution to the success of the US strategic forces' organization in China. ".

Lin Zhen carefully looked at the introduction to the Kai Tak Airport on the viewing platform, and said with regret: "There should also be a sign up here to write the history of the Shanghai Hong Kong and Kowloon Brigade fighting here." (End)
