She herself has no contact with her father, her husband Prince Harry has just criticized his harshly and publicly on "Oprah".

Nevertheless, Duchess Meghan is now focusing on the “particularly close bond” between fathers and sons in her first children's book.

"The Bench" will be published by Penguin Random House in New York, as announced late Tuesday evening.

Meghan was inspired by her husband, Prince Harry (36), and son Archie, who turns two this Thursday, to the story, it said.

The story reminds us of the many ways love can take shape and express itself in a modern family.

According to the publisher, Meghan will also record an audio book.

The plan met with interest but also incomprehension in the British media.

The Duchess's harshest critic, presenter Piers Morgan, who even lost his job at the British broadcaster ITV over his assessment of the couple's controversial “Oprah” interview (“I don't believe a word”), immediately dropped a number of tweets .

In a tweet - and his accompanying "Daily Mail" column, he wrote: "How the hell can Meghan preach" I hate kings, but call me Duchess "Markle about father-child relationships when she denies her own father and the relationship ruined her husband to his? ”.

Morgan alluded to the Duchess' broken relationship with her father Thomas Markle, whom she had not seen for years, but also to Prince Harry, who accused his father of having withdrawn his financial support in the much-noticed TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, not even his taking Harry's calls anymore.

There is no trace of such discrepancies in the new book, instead harmony dominates.

"The Bench" began as a poem that I wrote for my husband on Father's Day, the month after Archie was born, "says Meghan himself, according to the publisher.

“This poem then became this story.” It is about the warmth, joy and comfort of a father-son relationship.

Is that Prince Harry?

“The Bench”, which is due to appear on June 8, was illustrated by Christian Robinson, a young illustrator with Afro-American roots.

One of the pictures also shows a young, red-haired soldier who bears a distant resemblance to Prince Harry.

Meghan and Harry gave up their royal duties a good year ago and have lived with Archie in the United States since then. They are expecting their second child. The couple is very active in business: the two have signed contracts with streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify.
