TV presenter Harald Lesch criticizes the government's corona policy.

"It has kept getting worse," says Lesch, who is also a professor of physics at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, in an interview with the Teleschau news agency. "We could have done better," he says. Lesch had last year the government still praised it.

What he finds "really funny" is "the turning away from science by some politicians".

"Some people think they are smarter than those who really understand about this disease." They would chase after their own goals.

"The Chancellor also complained about that - as a proven scientist, Angela Merkel knew how powerful science is," says the astrophysicist.

It was known that the mutations would come - and that "these will then prevail, that is very banal mathematics".

According to Lesch, there is too much grumbling

The science is with "the prognoses mostly exactly right".

“It all comes down to listening to science at the right moment.

The right measures at the right time.

With a view to the prime ministers, I have to ask: Why don't you listen to your specialists?

Society pays us for that. "

Lesch also sharply criticizes the “lateral thinker” scene.

"We haven't had the sharp lockdowns like in other countries for a long time - and yet we have the lateral thinker demonstrations and the big nagging," says the 60-year-old.

According to Lesch, most of the population stands by what science says.

A large part is also behind the corona measures.

Only hear those who disagree because they are screaming the loudest.
