On the night of the 3rd, something like a ball of light was witnessed flowing down the sky in various parts of Kyushu such as Fukuoka and Nagasaki prefectures.

It seems to be a bright shooting star called a "fireball".

Around 8 pm on the 3rd, witness information that something like a ball of light was seen in the sky in Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Nagasaki, and Saga prefectures was posted on SNS one after another.

NHK's cameras installed at NHK Fukuoka Broadcasting Center in Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City and Minamishimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture, actually show what looks like a ball of light shining brightly and flowing down.

According to Satoshi Imamura, director of the Sendai Space Hall in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, this is a bright shooting star called a "fireball," which is strong when dust and asteroid fragments in outer space enter the atmosphere and burn out. It is a shining phenomenon.

Director Imamura said, "It is an astronomical phenomenon that is confirmed several times a year, and I think that this light ball is definitely a fireball."
