Over 16 million people follow

Twin Melody's

videos

on

Tik Tok

daily

.

They are

Aitana and Paula Etxeberria

(Ordizia, 1997), two sisters who combine their

teaching studies

with a career as singers - they have just published

No soy Tuya

(Sony Music)

-

and influencers while they

collaborate in El Hormiguero

.

They do so many things together on a daily basis that during the interview they continually take turns, complement and interrupt.

QUESTION.

How is a day in your life?

ANSWER.

Well look, it can be super different.

When we are practicing at the school, when we are studying Teaching, we get up at eight o'clock and go there, although afterwards each one leaves at an hour.

On the days that we go to

El Hormiguero,

we come to Madrid the day before, we are at the hotel in the morning and we try to record Tik Tok.

In the afternoon we go to the program and the next day we go home.

Other days we have them free and we can meet friends or visit relatives ...

Q. Do you enjoy everything?

R.

Well, with so many things we try to enjoy, but it is true that sometimes we get overwhelmed because we do not get to everything.

Q. Do you have a team behind to help you?

A.

We are with Sony Music.

It is true that we do all the ideas for Tik Tok, many times we compose and do all the work, but Sony helps us to have the necessary means.

What we do is run our social networks because we feel that we know how to connect with the fans.

And in Tik Tok nothing has changed, we continue recording with a tripod and with zeal.

Q. Only in Tik Tok you have 16 million followers, is it easy to keep your feet on the ground?

R.

It is something that goes apart from being famous.

If you notice there are people who are not famous who believe more than others.

In the end, fame may find out the fool.

I mean, if you're a fool with fame, it's going to get bigger.

Also, what you achieve in life does not define you.

We're all going to end up being dust, even if it sounds dramatic.

P. And your environment?

Has his attitude towards you changed?

R.

The truth is that our family environment continues to treat us the same and our friends understand every time they stop us on the street.

We have also had friends who have been bothered, but they are no longer in our group.

For one thing or another life separates you.

Q. Are you aware of the reproductions that your videos make on Tik Tok or the video clips of the songs?

R.

In the end the important thing is that you are comfortable with what you do and, if later people like it, that they like it.

Although it is true that when you have a little more reproduction you are happier.

But come on, songs that morally say things with which we disagree and we don't do them are often popular.

As much as we had many visits, it is not worth it.

Q. So, are you against separating the artist's work?

A.

Yes. We could not make music and sing something with which we do not agree.

Many times you hear lyrics and they tell you: "it is a character who is doing."

We couldn't do that.

Everyone is free to do what they want, but it will not be our case.

P. In the lists of 'the most popular tiktokers' you all look like models, do you have to be handsome to succeed in Tik Tok?

A.

In the end, beauty is subjective.

You can be very handsome on the outside but if you are ugly on the inside it will show in the videos.

It's a mix of everything, but what I would say is be presentable.

In Tik Tok it is true that for the videos to go viral you have to be a little prepared.

You can't suddenly go in your pajamas or with the toothpaste or electrocuted hair.

It is true that most of the time you have to go as you would go to the street or to work.

In the end we are all kind of handsome if you get a little presentable.

Q. A couple of months ago, Charli D'Amelio, the biggest star on Tik Tok,

shared a video that caused controversy and cost her a million followers

.

Is it something that worries you?

R.

We, and everyone, make mistakes.

We are not the Perfect Doña.

But it is true that many times what one says can be misinterpreted.

Influencers are put a lot of weight on the power to influence, and they are right because we influence, but it is important to know that we all influence.

Everyone in society has a weight.

We really have to look each one in our own head and say: let's see, what can I improve.

We can still see the straw in the other's eye but we don't see the beam in front of us.
