What is that supposed to be good for?

If you look at the packaging of the SmartQ brush and the possible uses shown on it, the question must be rather: What is the part

not

suitable for?

In the car, in the garden and in the "hobby workshop", in the household and when wallpapering - that is, wherever there is dirt and cleaning work - SmartQ promises thorough cleaning and "convenient handling".

The ergonomically shaped handle is supposed to take care of the latter.

It was precisely this grip that was particularly important to the painter, varnisher and brush inventor Michael Heide.

Because when working with common wallpaper brushes, his wrist often hurt.

That's why in 2001 he started developing his own brush that can be touched in such a way that the wrist remains relaxed.

He now has the German and European patents on SmartQ.

The second selling point should be the longer and stronger bristles, with which you should be able to reach places that are difficult to access.

How much does it cost?

Is that a real innovation?

No, it's another household brush - but one with a special handle.

Do you need that?

Our test result:

there was nothing to wallpaper with us, but there was a lot to clean.

Our balcony in particular needed it, as a lot of dirt had accumulated there over the winter in the corners and in the grooves in the wooden floor.

Here you can see the previously uncleaned state with dust, crumbs, earth and some rubbish:

First we swept through with a normal household broom.

With the one we just have at home.

This is the “Superfeger” model from Vileda, which has no bristles, but a sweeping surface made of microfoam, which is more suitable for smooth floors, where especially (animal) hair and dust are reliably sucked in and pulled with it.

But he also did a decent job on the balcony, removing all the dust and crumbs.

But in the corner it reached its limits and this broom did not remove the clearly visible dirt in the groove towards the wall, you can see that here:

It continued with SmartQ.

This made it easy for us to get into the corners and were able to remove even the roughest from the groove facing the wall.

For this result we brushed for two minutes, with a longer use you could certainly have gotten even more out:

Our conclusion: With SmartQ you can actually get into corners and grooves very well, the bristles are strong and can also handle tough jobs without any problems.

However, we only have the comparison to a household broom, which was not really suitable for use on the balcony.

We would probably have achieved similar results with a hand brush, such as the one available in a hardware store, for example.

But would that have been so convenient?

Because, in our opinion, this product promise is also kept, the SmartQ handle is really practical and pleasant to clean.

In any case, we didn't have any wrist pain afterwards.
