This time, the campaign is off to a good start in Germany and the stage is set before the September 2021 elections to succeed Angela Merkel.

It is a duel with, perhaps a few referees, which is announced.

On the one hand, there is the conservative Armin Laschet who had all the trouble in the world to get rid of his Bavarian rival Markus Söder, more popular and who has probably not finished talking about him.

On the other, the environmentalist Annalena Baerbock, 40 years old and who was named, in a much more peaceful way, by a party at the top of the polls for a few days.

Does political renewal in Germany herald real change?

This is the question of the day.
