Juan Joya Borja became famous in Spain in the early 2000s when he appeared in the program of the journalist and television personality Jesús Quintero.

Quintero got into the habit of picking up ordinary people from the street who got to talk about something fun, writes El Mundo.

Outside of Spain, he became known via a clip where Borja is interviewed by Quintero and starts laughing at an anecdote from his youth.

Juan Joya Borja's characteristic laughter has given him the nickname "El risitas" - the giggle.

He turned 65 years old and died in Seville on Wednesday, April 28, after being in hospital since the autumn of 2020, writes El Mundo.
