33 years ago, a 5-year-old boy, Haidong (pseudonym), disappeared while rushing to the market in Yangbai Township, Tongjiang County, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province (now a township). He was trafficked from Sichuan to Hebei by traffickers.
On March 30, 2021, Haidong asked the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Bureau for help, asking the public security organs to help him find his relatives in Sichuan, and then mailed his blood sample to the DNA Division of the Technical Division of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Bureau.
Initially, Haidong’s blood samples were not successfully compared after they were put into the warehouse.
However, the inspectors conducted a comprehensive and comprehensive analysis of his DNA data and found that his genetic gene was related to the Pan family in Tongjiang County, Bazhong City.
Subsequently, the Tongjiang County Public Security Bureau of Bazhong City organized police officers to visit Bazhong City, Nanchong City, Dazhou City, and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture to investigate more than 2,000 people.
On April 15, the police finally got clues-a boy from Mr. Pan and Ms. Zhang's family in Panjiahe Village, Yangbai Town, Tongjiang County, disappeared in 1988.
After DNA comparison, Haidong’s blood sample DNA has 29 sites compared with Mr. Pan’s blood sample DNA. After offline review, the police finally determined that Haidong had a biological genetic relationship with Mr. Pan and Ms. Zhang’s couple.
The relevant person in charge of the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department said that with the advancement of science and technology, the public security organs have increasingly improved mechanisms for data investigation, intelligence research and judgment, police type synthesis, and regional cooperation, and the ability to handle cases has been continuously improved.
In January this year, the Ministry of Public Security deployed public security organs across the country to carry out a "reunion" operation to detect accumulated cases of child abduction and to find missing and abducted children.
Since the launch of the operation, Sichuan Province has recovered 5 missing and abducted children over 40 years, 19 over 30 years, and 35 over 20 years.
