In the 1980s, the 13th Company of the 11th Regiment of Alar City, the First Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, discovered patches of "Kungang Ancient Tombs". Later, living quarters and buildings were discovered near the 15th Company of the 11th Regiment. In the production area, several tomb groups were subsequently found along the desert belt along the northern margin of Taklimakan.

Recently, the reporter walked into this group of ancient tombs and took a close-up view of the male corpse over 2 meters.

As the excavation site of Kungang Culture, the 11th Regiment has unearthed many cultural relics of cultural value. Among them, there are 5 dry corpses unearthed from the ancient tomb group, 4 are relatively complete, two are stored in the Western Region Culture Research Institute of Tarim University, and the other two are stored In the exhibition room of the Kungang site of the 11th regiment, the length of the male skeleton in the exhibition room of the Kungang site exceeds 2 meters.

There are many records about Xiqiang's activities in the Tarim Basin in ancient documents. The "Han Guiyi Qiang Long Seal" was unearthed in Xinhe County to the east of Alar.

So far, some place names in southern Xinjiang still have the word "Qiang", such as "Ruoqiang".

It can be inferred from this that the "Kungang people" are the "West Qiang people", and the Qiang culture has a profound influence on the civilization of the Western Regions of China.

The discovery of "Kungang Ancient Tombs" is a strong evidence of the "five thousand years of the Western Regions of China", and it also fills in the historical and cultural gaps in Tazhong area.
