After a canceled 2020 edition and the abandonment of the historic broadcaster France Télévisions, the Montreux Comedy Festival returns in December 2021, if the health crisis permits, and announces a partnership with a new broadcaster: Canal +.

The ticket office opens this Thursday.

After the cancellation of its previous edition, the Montreux Festival returns to Canal +.

The encrypted channel replaces the historic broadcaster of one of the biggest French-speaking comedy events, France Télévisions.

The French audiovisual group had "dropped" the festival, in the words of the organizers, at the end of last year.

He had refused to postpone his funding and announced the end of his partnership with the event.

This 32nd edition should be held from December 1 to 7, 2021, if the health situation allows it.

The program of the event will be fully unveiled in the fall but the opening gala will already be provided by comedian Alex Ramirès, who will host "a great ball" on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 December.

The comedians Gérémy Crédeville and Guillermo Guiz are also on the bill with "Stand Up in the rain".
