The vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer could soon also be approved for children aged twelve and over.

But should schoolchildren even get a vaccination as a matter of priority from the beginning of June?

The SPD politician and health expert Karl Lauterbach criticizes what would certainly be good for safe classroom teaching.

He was against children being given preferential treatment, he told the “Spiegel”.

"The vaccine for children is at the expense of the quota that we have until about September," said Lauterbach.

There are currently other priorities that must first be dealt with in the fight against the pandemic.

Instead of taking children into account earlier for vaccinations, Lauterbach suggests a different strategy: “We should send additional contingents to the hot spots.” All people should then be vaccinated there - including the children.

The vaccine from Johnson & Johnson should be inoculated primarily for adults.

It only needs to be injected once for immunization.

Lauterbach recommends immunizing children with the vaccine from Biontech.
