Federal Minister of Justice Christine Lambrecht (SPD) wants to bring a regulation on easing for fully vaccinated people as soon as possible.

"Thoroughness in this work does not mean that we work slowly," said Lambrecht in the ARD "Morgenmagazin" on Wednesday.

She wanted to submit a corresponding ordinance as soon as possible, which would then be discussed by the Bundestag and Bundesrat.

"We will then hopefully come to a result quickly," said Lambrecht.

It is now important to send a signal to all vaccinated people as quickly as possible.

"We have to show that the rule of law applies in normal times, but also in pandemic times," said Lambrecht.

If there is no longer any risk of infection from people, the reason for the restriction of fundamental rights will no longer apply, argued the Minister of Justice.

Lambrecht expressly welcomed the initiatives of individual federal states to equate fully vaccinated people with those who tested negative on a daily basis.

"I'm glad this discussion is going on," she said.

“What is happening in the countries is going in the right direction”.
