Four local governments in Miyagi Prefecture have signed a cooperation agreement so that they can receive the new coronavirus vaccine even in cities and towns different from their addresses, and started vaccination for the elderly on the 27th.

About 20 medical institutions in Tomiya City, Taiwa Town, Osato Town, and Ohira Village started vaccination for the elderly on the 27th.

Of these, at the public Kurokawa Hospital in Taiwa Town, 10 elderly people aged 80 and over who had made a reservation in advance visited and received an injection after being interviewed by a doctor.

An 82-year-old woman from Taiwa Town who visited with her husband said, "I was relieved to get the vaccination. My grandson, a nurse, said,'Be careful even if you get the vaccination.' I will. "

Last month, the four local governments signed the only cooperation agreement in Miyagi prefecture so that they can receive vaccinations at medical institutions in different local governments.

Since there is only one medical institution in Osato Town and Ohira Village that can inoculate, the aim is to improve the convenience of residents through a partnership agreement.

In addition, the vaccines assigned to each municipality will be shared by the four local governments to promote efficient inoculation.

Dr. Shunsuke Minamiya, a 53-year-old physician at Kurokawa Hospital, said, "It has become more efficient because it is no longer necessary to distinguish patients by address. It's easy and you can reduce waste without discarding it. "

Benefits of wide area inoculation

Of the four municipalities where individual vaccinations have begun, Osato-cho and Ohira-mura have only one clinic for each vaccination. Therefore, it is said that the merit of wide area inoculation is great.

Of these, in Osato Town, it is said that if reservations were concentrated at the clinic, which is the only vaccination site in the town, there was concern that normal medical care would be affected.

In addition, many of the people living in the town usually go to the medical institutions in neighboring Taiwa Town and Tomiya City, which is said to be convenient for the townspeople.

Koichi Kamada, chief of the Health and Welfare Division of Osato Town, said, "If the four municipalities work together, the burden on the clinic will be reduced. The vaccines distributed to each municipality are also flexible, so we can respond to occasional support." ..
