The upward trend observed in intensive care units in Lyon in recent days remains moderate but it testifies to the fact that the third wave is still raging between the Rhône and the Saône.

According to the latest report on the health crisis unveiled this Tuesday by the Civil Hopsices of Lyon, hospital pressure remains strong within the CHU as in the rest of the department.

After a slight drop in intensive care admissions observed ten days ago, the curve has started to rise again, with 141 Covid + patients currently being treated in intensive care compared to 129 on April 19.

In real time, the staff is therefore always under strain, the 244 beds today "armed" to face the wave of coronavirus, being more than 94% occupied, according to the CHU. All services combined, hospitalizations at the CHU de Lyon are however down slightly. Between April 19 and 26, the number of patients admitted for Covid + reason decreased by 2.5%. This inversion of the curve is more marked on the whole of the territory (Rhône, Bourgoin-Jallieu and Vienne), where it reached -14% during the last seven days.

The evolution of the various indicators, less noticeable than expected, confirms the strong presence of the virus in Metropolitan France and the department.

Sectors where the incidence rate, making it possible to assess the circulation of Covid within the population, continues to decline but is to be correlated with the sharp decrease in screenings carried out among the general public since the start of this third confinement .
