[A well-off life] Farmers in Baoding, Hebei: Hold a painting and calligraphy exhibition

[Explanation] 100-meter long scrolls written in lower case, Chinese landscape paintings with agile meaning, and vigorous and simple official script calligraphy... These works are all from the hands of ordinary villagers in the rural areas of Baoding, Hebei.

Shi Liyong, a villager in Dashizhuang Village, Xushui District, Baoding City, used his house to establish Baobei Blooming Calligraphy and Calligraphy Garden with a few villagers who love painting and calligraphy.

During the farm slack, they organized farmers' calligraphy and painting enthusiasts to splatter ink here and learn about their skills.

When I was a child, every Chinese New Year, my grandfather would write Spring Festival couplets to others, and I would help with ink research and paper cutting nearby, and I fell in love with Chinese calligraphy imperceptibly.

The living conditions in the countryside were not good at that time, and this hobby could not persist.

[Explanation] With the improvement of living conditions in recent years, Shi Liyong has picked up a brush again.

With the support of his family, he transformed a house of more than 40 square meters into a painting and calligraphy gallery.

The house is full of paintings and calligraphy works of the villagers, each of which has different styles and colors.

Most of the villagers who joined our calligraphy and painting garden have no basis in calligraphy and learned later.

At the beginning, I couldn't write both horizontally and vertically, but now I can show the works, we teach them for free, and everyone is making rapid progress.

[Explanation] Driven by Shi Liyong and others, more and more villagers are fond of traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. They have turned their hobby into a new fashion that leads more than 40 surrounding villages, and has set off to carry forward Chinese traditional culture in the countryside. "Painting and calligraphy fever".

Writing calligraphy with brush is a very good hobby. Since we established the Calligraphy and Painting Garden, there have been fewer old people playing cards in the village, and fewer children playing mobile phones. Everyone is willing to come here to participate in calligraphy and painting activities.

[Explanation] In Shi Liyong's view, there are not only folk customs, but also culture in rural areas.

Now that the rural economy has developed, the spiritual outlook of the villagers must also improve, and they cannot become a cultural depression.

Now there are nearly 100 members of the Calligraphy and Painting Court, and he hopes that more calligraphy and painting enthusiasts can join in.
